We reached out to Dean to ask him to write a bio and he said “you can just make something up if you want” and while that was tempting, instead, Mikee will write something about Dean’s involvement.

“I first met Dean when I was working as a cloakroom attendant in an alternative nightclub, Level 3, in Swindon and my first impressions of him were that he always arrived with a beer and a smile. We used to do something like £1 a bottle specials so he’d start his night with bringing me a bottle, chatting for a while, then going off to enjoy the rest of his night.

“I’m not sure how I approached him about putting guitar down, but he did and we were then ‘in a band’ and at those ages, early twenties you form a bond that is essentially you and me against the world. Dean would often think up lyrics too to be included:

‘We’re quicker and sicker than porno corner-shop liquor’
‘Me pene no aspirar mi chica’
‘A tie is like a noose, inverted though it is’

“As Mikee moved to London, it became really difficult to write together and the ability to collaborate was tough. Felix was a guitarist and in the bedroom next door, so it helped out. It’s difficult when you’re young and poor to get about the country. The thing is, without Dean, I’d have never had a band in the first place, so that comradery and connectiveness is what set me on a new path in life.”
